The Fukagawa Pleasure quarter was known as 'Tatsumi' (south-east) because it was on the S-E side of Edo.
The colour of the sash of the courtesan receiving the letter is orange-pink.
In the first edition of this print it is lemon-yellow.
This print also lacks a small purse for powder for washing that appears in the earlier edition.
