The Association of Friends of the Haifa Museums was established in order to support the Haifa Museums: Haifa Museum of Art, Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art, the National Maritime Museum and the Haifa City Museum. The Association regularly organizes series of lectures on art and culture. In recent years, the Association has also begun offering art education activities for children and young adults from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Within this framework, the Association finances art classes and day camps for groups of children from various neighborhoods and sectors in Haifa. The Association's funds are raised through the sale of tickets for various events and activities, and through annual membership fees. Members of the Association's board of directors work on a volunteer basis.
Association Members receive special benefits (such as pre-opening exhibition tours, usually give by the exhibition curator) and discounts on tickets and subscriptions to activities organized by the Association. In addition, members receive free admission to the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, and to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, alongside additional discounts.
