Untitled, 1999 (detail), oil on canvas, four paintings: 32 x 29 cm each, private collection, Tel Aviv

Nurit David

The dreamy and pensive emotional state portrayed in these images raises the question of the affinity between thoughts and emotions. Thoughts are conceived of by Nurit David as "dissecting the female body and marring the skin that covers it. Thoughts wrinkle and scar the skin. A lack of consciousness is associated with beauty."

Born in Tel Aviv, 1952; lives and works in Tel Aviv.
