Adina Bar-On
The performances of Adina Bar-On, a performance artist who is still active today, were based in the 1970s on emotions communicated through movement, facial expressions and vocal emanations combined with autobiographical flashbacks. These works aimed at producing a subtle expressive frequency, which was meant to enable the viewer to go beyond the regular viewing parameters of a "performance." The moments of emptiness and embarrassment were meant to create a singular happening, which involved audience reactions. Due to their direct, unmediated quality, Adina Bar-On did not believe her performances could be captured on film.
