Amir Yatziv
Amir Yatziv's work is composed of a series of interviews with young men who have just participated in a game that simulates a military battle. In these interviews, the men talk about the game and about the circumstances in which they were ousted from it. Yatziv detaches the stories from their original context, thus giving viewers the false impression that these are real soldiers, who are describing their last moments in battle prior to their deaths. Their testimonies represent the ultimate fantasy of a "heroic death," and lead us to reflect on the ethos of heroism.
