Dana Levy
Dana Levy's work features two children touring the remains of their destroyed home in the Jenin refugee camp, about three weeks after it was bombed as part of Operation Defensive Wall. The children playing among the ruins are enjoying the camera's presence and the artist's attention, and ask her to document everything she sees. One of the children is holding a toy bulldozer in one hand, and a poster of a suicide bomber in the other. With harrowing simplicity, this image symbolically captures a reality made up of destruction and pain.
