Rahaf

Rahaf, model maker: Alexander Blokhin

Rahaf

Rahaf was a motorized sailboat owned by Nachshon Ltd. The Nachshon company was founded in 1937 by the Histadrut workers' union in order to promote Jewish sailing and fishing activities in Palestine.

Rahaf occupies a significant place in the history of local Jewish seamanship: it served as a training base for officers and sailors, training seamen who would eventually become captains in the Israeli Merchant Marine.
